The beach nearby is accessed by a steep staircase running down from the car park area. The Punch Bowl is so-named as you can look down on it from a viewpoint near the car park and look at the water mixing around in the formation below. The area comprises of a beach, a little picnic area, some viewpoints, a few off-shore rock formation (popular with surfers as they churn up awesome waves) and the eponymous rock formation, basically bowl-shaped depression resulting from two caves collapsing in due to erosion.
